Day 30 (D-33) Nearly half-way there! It's time for a QUIZ!

Just about half-way there. It's Day 33, with 31 days before we leave for Wyoming.  It's time for a little midterm quiz!  And of course a little entertainment too.

Can you answer these EASY questions?

1.  What's the capital of Wyoming?  What's the capital of South Dakota?

2.  Why is Denver called The Mile High City?

3.  What kind of fort was Fort Vasquez?  And Fort Laramie?

4.  Is the cowboy song The Beaches of Cheyenne a happy song or a sad song?  Why?

5.  What famous event takes place in Cheyenne every summer?

6.  What was discovered in The Black Hills in South Dakota in 1874?

7.  Where were Custer and his 7th Calvary defeated in 1876?

8.  When did work on the Crazy Horse Memorial begin?

9.  Who are the 4 presidents we see at Mount Rushmore?

10.  Why is Wyoming called The Equality State?

EASY?   You can always go back to look for the answers. That's EASY!

For today's cowboy song we return to Johnny Cash.  Listen again to I Ride An Old Paint and when he finishes it he sings a second song, The Streets of Laredo, another old traditional cowboy song.  (Laredo is town in Texas.)

Another person you certainly know sang the song also.
I was very happy to go to Vienne on July 21st to hear her sing.
