Day 63 (D-0) September 7, 2019 Today is the day we leave!

Oops...I forgot to post this one!  
If you read the next blog entry (November 1, 2019), you'll know why!!

 Today we leave, bright and early.

Yellowstone, the very first national park.   March 1, 2017 marked the 145th anniversary of the creation of this first national park. Day 40 (D-23) Plains Indians: Returning to The Cheyenne

It's August 15th today, a holiday in France.  And it's on a Thursday this year.  So, many who are not on vacation during this month will perhaps "faire le pont"... "make a bridge" from Wednesday evening until Monday morning!  In English, we simply have a 4-day weekend or a long weekend  No bridges!   If you are enjoying your holidays today and have no time for your computer traveling, do come back at another time to read about the Cheyenne, watch scenes from two films and listen to Cheyenne music.  Interesting.  Sad.  Important. ______________________________________________________ At the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, I'm certain that we will learn about  the Cheyenne tribe .  We saw them a little on this blog on Day 7. Day 45 (D-18) Yellowstone: A grammar lesson!

A few years ago I had some classes at a B1 level and we were using   a  New Headway Pre-Intermediate book .  It was the  second to last   ( avant dernière )  lesson in the book  " What if .. .(Et si) "   where my students learned the second conditional.  Now what does all this have to do with Yellowstone, you may ask!   Just as a reminder,  the second conditional is used to express an unreal or improbable condition and its results .  The past forms are used to show this is different from reality.  The condition is unreal because it is different from the facts that we know.   How about if   (Et si)  I share the text with you?
